Making Pancakes on Pesach

Question

If I cook pancakes in less than 18 minutes (the way I’d do with matzah only with other ingredients), would it still be forbidden to eat? Why or why not? Thank you!

  1. In theory, you can make pancakes from batter that was made on the spot. However, due to the production process, there is no regular flour that is supervised as Kosher for Pesach. That means that, practically speaking, you cannot make a regular pancake batter on Pesach, but you can definitely improvise and create delicious Kosher for Pesach pancakes using supervised ingredients instead.

  2. Is this because the flour has to be supervised in order to be considered kosher for pesach?

  3. Yes. There is no flour that is no flour that is certified as kosher for Pesach because the process that is used to make flour includes soaking it.
