In general, Jewish weddings have a band and are extremely joyous and lively affairs. Orthodox weddings generally use bands that are owned and run by Orthodox Jews, playing Jewish music and songs. Outside of the Orthodox milieu I do not really know which bands are used and which are not. Personally, I think that the simplest solution is to discuss the bands with the bride’s side and the groom’s side and, if necessary, ask the Rabbi officiating at the wedding what would be an acceptable band to use.
