  1. There are special prayers for welfare of the soldiers and for all who are serving for the security of Israel. In addition, there is a touching prayer for the wellbeing of the State of Israel. These prayers can be found in the Shabbat Services in many Siddurs (prayer books).

You should feel free to compose your own prayer in your language. You can beseech God to safely bring back all who are kidnapped, and that everyone you care about will return home, safe and sound. Just let the words come out of your heart and they will soar up to our Father in Heaven.

There is a tradition to recite passages from Tehillim, the Book of Psalms. I personally suggest saying chapter 121. It is a beautiful reminder that God is the guardian of Israel and has promised to guard the Jewish People from all enemies.

A song for ascents. I shall raise my eyes to the mountains, from where will my help come?
My help is from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to falter; Your Guardian will not slumber.
Behold the Guardian of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your Guardian; the Lord is your shadow; [He is] by your right hand.
By day, the sun will not smite you, nor will the moon at night.
The Lord will guard you from all evil; He will guard your soul.
The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from now and to eternity.

    Amen!
