Question

Am i permitted to put my Maaser money into an investment account so that in 20 years I can use it to support my adult (and married) children stay in Yeshiva/Kollel?

  1. In general, it is better to pay ma’aser regularly rather than wait until there is a large amount to give out. The Rabbis teach that ma’aser money does not really belong to us. It is Hashem’s money and we are His agents to distribute it for Him. That means that you cannot store up your ma’aser to be used in the future – even for investment purposes to make it grow. Rather, ma’aser should preferably be paid sooner rather than later.
