Mixing Fish and Meat

Are you allowed to cook fish on top of a grill that had meat on it?

  1. Not if the grill has any meat or meaty residue remaining on it. This is not really a matter of kashrut laws, like the ban against eating meat and milk together. Nevertheless, our Sages warn against eating meat and fish cooked together since their combination is not healthy, and Jewish law strictly forbids things harmful to one’s health.
