Making Aliyah: One Day or Two?

Question

If one moves to Israel and rents an apartment, but makes regular frequent trips back to the United States to see family and friends, is that considered living in Israel for the purpose of observing one day of Yom Tov?

  1. If you are domiciled in Israel you should keep only one day regardless of how how often you travel back to the States. According to some authorities even if you are not living in Israel but you are here for Pesach, Shavuos and Sukkos you can keep one day and not two.

If you are still uncertain as to how many days you should be keeping I would suggest that you speak with your local Rav for clarification.
