Forgetting Mincha or Maariv

Question

What is one supposed to do if he does not remember whether or not he davened Mincha or Maariv and he is still within the window of time to do so?

    If they truly have no recollection one way or the other, they should daven the missing Tefillah. They should make a verbal, or, at the very least, a mental stipulation before they begin, that if they did daven previously, the Amidah they are davening now should be considered to be a “Tefillas Nedavah” – a voluntary Tefillah.
