Disabled Shomer for Chattan/Kallah

Question

According to Halacha is it permitted for the shomer for the Chattan or Kallah to go out after the wedding to be disabled? Or no, does it not pose an issue even if they are disabled?

    I can’t think of a reason why it might be a problem. The function of the Shomer is to escort the Chosson/Kallah because they are likened to royalty, and the protocol is that royalty is always escorted. Another reason offered is that the Shomer guards the Chosson/Kallah from witchcraft.
