About Converting

I am a 78 year old man who has Jewish ancestry on my mothers side. I was raised a Christian. But have spent the last 5 years living ad a Noachide. Studying Torah etc. and some Hebrew. I am absolutely convinced that I should return to where I am supposed to be. Because of Covid, I have been following Shabbat online. Is this possible?

  1. Yes, it is. The first step is to arrange that a qualified Orthodox Rabbi will oversee, in a personal way, the entire conversion process from beginning to end because the Orthodox community only recognizes an Orthodox conversion. However, each country, and sometimes even each city, has its own set of prerequisites in order to qualify as a candidate for conversion.

To take refuge under the wings of the Almighty is a process which has far-reaching significance to one’s spiritual soul, both in this world and in the hereafter. It has spiritual advantages and spiritual obligations, and, if not fulfilled, can end up in a net loss. More importantly, if the conversion is not done with the proper preparation on the part of the potential convert, it just does not work.
