3D Printing on Chol Hamoed

Question

On chol hamoed, Halacha permits melacha which isn’t intricate, but intricate melacha (generally) is forbidden. Can one use a 3d printer on chol hamoed? Are there any Teshuvot on this

    I am not familiar with any Teshuvos that deal with 3D printing on Chol HaMoed. Having said that, I am not sure why it should be regarded as any different from regular printing on Chol HaMoed, which would mean that if there is a need for whatever is being printed, and an expert is not needed to work the printer, I think that it should be permissible.
