Reciting Yizkor Late

Question

Shalom. Due to an emergency, I missed the opportunity to say Yizkor for my father in synagogue yesterday. Can I say it at home now? Or is there something else I can do? Others did say it for him, if that matters. Thank you.

    It is permissible to recite Yizkor today if desired. There is no obligation to recite it with a Minyan – it can be said at home. In any event, one of the most effective means of elevating the soul of a departed loved one is by giving Tzedakah in their merit. And that is something which can be done at any time.
