    The Talmud states, Tractate Yevamot 62b, that in the period between Pesach and Shavuot the students of Rabbi Akiva died. The Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim 493, writes similarly that the epidemic hit between Pesach and Shavuot.

    I have seen no source that says when the plague began, but I would assume that it started from the beginning of Pesach. Otherwise, I am sure that it would have been mentioned in many different places that it began only after Pesach ended.
