Is it a Jewish thing to make New Year’s resolutions?

  1. Now? The Jewish New Year was on Rosh Hashana, about four months ago. That was certainly an appropriate Jewish time for reflection on our lives and also a time for festivities.

Actually, however, every day is a good time to review one’s way in life and decide if there’s anything that should be changed and improved – even it seems to be a minor matter.

By the way, according to Judaism, any resolution one makes should be made in the manner of “I will try to change” — and should not be made as a formal vow.

Have a good day, every day!
