Question
Mesechta Avodah Zarah starts out by saying it is forbidden to do business with or repay debt to a gentile 3 days before their holidays because they might show gratitude to their idols. Does that mean it is prohibited to shop at a Christian-owned retail store or pay a bill between December 22-25?

Question
Shalom aleichem Rabbi Lauffer. Thank you for answering my last question. If a Gentile wishes you "Happy Halloween," would it be permitted to answer him back "You too"? And would the same answer hold true for Xmas and Thanksgiving? Thanks a lot.

Question
At this time of the year, retailers sell a lot of printed tops with holiday themed designs, such as trees, reindeer, poinsettias, snowflakes, and patterns of red, green, and other holiday colors. Many of these tops meet the requirements for tzniut in terms of what parts of the body they cover. And they are some of the most comfortable clothes on the market. Would it be permitted to wear these?

Question
We all know that Christmas is not a Jewish holiday. But living in a majority Christian country, Christmas is unavoidable as a part of our lives in some way. Most notably, most of us have the day off from work. And I’ve noticed some Orthodox synagogues host Chinese dinners and the kosher Chinese restaurants offer Christmas Eve specials. How far are we allowed to go to enjoy this day, e.g. spending fun time with family and friends we rarely get to see?
