Question

Hello,

So when I was little at age 3 or 4 and misbehaved – it was ok for my dad to put me on his lap and pat my bottom to discipline me?

    In general, contemporary educational experts are of the opinion that corporal punishment is the wrong approach. This is so, both for the experts in Jewish education and the experts in secular education. However, even if it were possible to suggest that it might have been acceptable, there are so many variables that have a bearing on the answer that is makes it almost impossible to respond. For example, how long ago did this all happen? How hard were you “patted”? How often did it happen?
