Gentiles: Children of Hashem

Question

Hi Rabbi,

Are gentiles considered the children of Hashem? Will they be in the future?

If not, how should they deal with the fact that they matter less to Almighty G-d as mere creatures (dogs and cats are also creatures) because they happen to have had the wrong kind of mother?

Respectfully yours,

  1. All humans are the children of Hashem. Rabbi David HaLevi Segal, who was known as the Turei Zahav after his seminal work on the Code of Jewish Law and one of the most eminent authorities in fifteenth century Poland, writes that imagining that non-Jews are considered to be of a lower status than Jews is a serious and unfortunate mistake. Every person has a powerful purpose in this world and each one is an absolutely necessary creation. What is true is that the Jewish Nation has a unique role in serving the Creator.
