Israel has the highest fertility rate among OECD nations. It shows sharp contrast with South Korea where fertility rate is under 1.0. Here, people say that we have to learn from Israel. Why is the fertility rate of Israel so high? What’s the secret behind it?

    In Israel, the family unit is of extreme importance. The sense of family and community has been part of a long-standing of the Jewish People as well as other faiths in Israel. Even for people who are not (fully) Torah observant, there is much knowledge and feeling for the history and the legacy of Israel.

    There are probably numerous reasons to account for the fertility, including an emphasis on healthcare for mothers and children along with financial incentives, but the reasons of the sense of family and the unity of the community are paramount.
