Chanukah Oil for the Temple Menorah

Question

Where was the oil that was “ only enough for one day” burned, if the menorah and the vessels were unclean?

    The Talmud relates that the original Menorah had been looted by the Greeks. Due to its no longer being in the Temple, the Chashmonaim lit a different Menorah there, one that they fabricated from metal and covered with wood. (Tractate Rosh Hashanah 24)
