Bowing After a Play

Question

If you are a member of the cast in a play, isn’t bowing toward the audience at the end, which is customary for all actors to do, forbidden by Jewish law? I have observed it done by kids at Jewish day schools.

  1. According to Jewish Law, there is no problem with bowing a s sign of respect to someone else. The problem with bowing is when it is a sign of worshiping someone or something else.
