Can you please explain the differences of the meanings of the oral law, the midrash, and the Talmud.

Is there any principle in the Old Testament that would justify the refusal of blood transfsusions? Jehovah's Witnesses cite Gen. 9:3,4, Leviticus 17:10-12, Deut. 12:23 and others from the Old Testament plus one from the New in support of not taking or giving blood. What is the Jewish viewpoint on this matter? Claude

I am an old jewish guy. .Have not worshipped in a Jewiish . temple , or worshiped in any church, since I became a man at 13 , [for 75 years] Dont know any Jewish people in our town.. I am a very healthy guy, I work, teach music, exercise, play in a Jazz band etc Been married to a wonderful ,younger woman,for 53 years ,who really follows HER FAITH! It would be nice to do something as a JEW, ANY suggestions? THANKS.. DAVE

Hello. I recently found out that my mother was born to a non-Jewish mother, but adopted at birth to Jewish parents whom I have always known as my true grandparents. My mother was raised Jewish. I was raised Jewish, and didnt find this out until very recently. I am going to be married in 6 months and trying to figure out if I should go through a conversion process? Im very confused. Thanks much.
