Question
Why do they say that it is very special/holy to pass away on Rosh HaShana? I mean, this is the time that we are inscribed in the book of life or death. And by all accounts she was anything but evil. My grandmother, whom I am named for, passed away on Erev Rosh HaShana. And I know that it may or may not have any significance, but I was born on the 1st day of Pesach(16th of Nisan) - my mother having gone into labor Erev Pesach. My mother is always telling me that we are very much alike, my grandmother and me. And Nisan and Tishrei are both considered New Years. I am just wondering how we explain passing away on Rosh HaShana as a good thing. It tends to be a sad time of year in my family on account of my mother, who only remembers it as a sad day. That's why I mentioned when I was born, as my grandmother's namesake, perhaps there is some significance? I really just want to find a way to make Rosh HaShana a good time of year for my family.

Question
I am considering a job which would require me to make seminar presentations 2 or 3 times a year on shabbos, at a hotel. I would not have to drive and could stay at the hotel, and could arrange kosher food. Assuming that I could guard against other prohibitions--microphones, cameras, ... I know this situation is not optimal, but would it be prohibited?

Question
Shalom. There was a debate in the Bet Midrash about Tanyah. One man who used to study Tanyah, was talking about the 5 different souls, like the Nefesh, Neshama and Roch e.t.c This mas said that the Neshama is the highest according to Tanyah, ans that just Jews have this soul. The first question is this. Why did Tanyah said this? to say that just the Jews have the Neshama, could cause the next antisemitic movement. Then we know that the Highest level is the Roch Hakodesh, and Elijah said: Anyone either Jew or gentile, who is devoted to God can have the Roch Hakodesh, also David said to God, do not let your Roch Hakodesh depart from me. So first why did Tanyah say that the Neshama is Higher than the Roch Hakodesh which is indeed proved to be the Highest?, and then why did he said that just jews have this soul. What do you Think about this matter? Thanks Yom Tov. Hayman
