what is the basis,if any,for standing up when the groom and the bride go down the aisle on the way to the chupah.I have seen several talmidei chachamim not stand up when the groom or the bride pass by.

I married a bas cohen. I recently found out that before her parents were married her mother was raped. Not only that but she had a baby with her boyfriend. She gave up the baby and years later met the man who is now her husband (nothing to do with the question really). Doesn't that make her pasul to marry a cohen?! I'm so confused! If so, what does that do to all their children AND TO MINE!?
