I am interested in Jewish philosophy. Is Abraham Joshua Heschel's "God In Search Of Man", "kosher"? If not, can you give me any ideas what to read?

i'm trying to explain to messianic jews (literal jews) why one should not mix milk and meat, but they only acceot the written torah (except the parts against idolatry of course). and not the oral laws. how can i explain to them that they should not eat milk with meat, just by using the written torah?
