Question
I was married in a reformed Temple. I later divorced my husband. He is Jewish and I am protestant. We had a son together. We always celebrated both Holidays (Jewish and Protestant) Now that we have divorced; he insists that our son is 100% Jewish and he is pushing my son for a Bar Mitzvah. My son was not circumcized by a moyel (because he was not born of a jewish mother). He had a ceremony with the Rabbi from Temple and a doctor did the circumcision. Can my ex-husband have a Bar Mitzvah without consulting me. My son does not want to do it and his Grandparents and his father has told him that he will receive money and gifts if he does it. How can reason with him? I know that by Jewish Law my son is not Jewish, but his father insists that he is.

Question
Greetings~ first, what a great site! I have already enjoyed reading through some of your enlightening answers. I am curious what the Pharisees based their belief in reincarnation on~and does this concept exist today amongst Jewish beliefs? Best Regards, Sandra
