Question
Is there really such a thing as Jewish music? From halachic and Hashkafic persepective is there such a thing as Jewish music? Sometimes I hear people say they wont listen to a song from the radio cause it is not jewish music. Is there really such a thing? Maybe Jewish music is anything that gives a person inspiration or they enjoy that does not have halachic problems with. Thanks

Question
Dear Rabbi, A few days ago, my roommate ( not Jewish) accidentally used two small knives, and three spoons. They are all dairy items and my roommate explained that she only used these items with cold foods. In the past, whe my other roommate ( Jewish) made a mistake and accidentally traifed one of the forks, I put the items into dirt for one night, washed them, and then went back to using them. What is the procedure for dealing with the non-Jewish, non-kosher roommate? I don't want to discriminate, but one knows the laws of Kashrut and one doesn't. Don't worry about me living with non Jews during my time an university. I am a baalat tsuvah and next year, I am heading to seminary in Israel and will be living in the kosher dorms :) Thank you for your time. Kindest Regards,

Question
Hi there! I am confused about the word 'sabbath'. Does it refer only to the weekly sabbath on the 7th day, or do people use it to refer to Holy Days as well? Are Holy Days considered sabbaths, with preparation days? For example, would it be incorrect or unusual to say on the day before Rosh Hashanah, "Tomorrow and Saturday are sabbaths, so I will be closing my store early on the preparation days today and Friday"? Thanks so much, Andrea
