1) why do we have to be so thankful for God's goodness- he loses absolutely nothing by giving it? 2) What's wrong with being a nice atheist?

1) How is it that if a person violates Shabbos, we kill him, but if the same person's life was in danger, we'd violate it to save him?

Dear Rabbi(s): I live in a small town..i have studied and have a level of knowledge....there are many missionaries out there that are constantly trying to steal our childrens souls.....is it approriate to converse with them telling them why we will never be like them H''v's and here is why....how appropriate is this? What do the rabbis say?

Dear Rabbi, thank you for your answer to my latest question. Today I have an other one: During the service at the synagogue jews performed kowtows (the German word is "Ehrenbezeugung", I am not sure if the translation is the right one). They donated money to the community (?). My question is: What is the sense of "Ehrenbezeugungen" at the synagogue? What are the origins? I hope, you understand my question and are able to answer!
