Hi Rabbi, is it true that a Jew with a tattoo cannot be buried in a Jewish cemetery?

  1. A tattoo does not forbid a Jewish burial. This idea is one of the greatest myths around.

    Of course, the Torah forbids tattoos in general, but that it a matter of Jewish law and has it own set of rules. But even if the tattoo is of a type that the Torah bans, there is no connection between having a tattoo and not having a Jewish burial.
