Vegetarian Food on Purim-Forbidden?

Question

I heard that on Purim Jews do not eat non-vegetarian foods. Is this true?

If it is, why are non-vegetarian foods prohibited during Purim?

  1. I have never heard such a thing before. What is true is that there is a Mitzvah to eat a large festive meal on Purim during the day, which often traditionally includes meat dishes. But, aside from that, there is no prohibition against vegetarian dishes and foods on Purim.
