The First Day

Question

Dear Rabbi, with the creation of light, our awareness of our present condition began. But the sun and the moon were not created immediately, so how was it possible for the first day to end?

I’m sure this basic question has been asked before along with several others of a related kind. Where is a good English source to find the answers?

    Actually, your question is as applicable to the second and the third days of the Creation as well because the sun and the moon were only created (or at least set in their places) on the fourth day of Creation.

    Possibly, the best resource that I am aware of is “The Seven Days of Creation” by Dr. Natan Aviezer.
