Shortcut to Spiritual Growth

Question

While our family has a very short experience of believing in one God, the Jewish nation has the history of 4000 years of monotheism from Abraham. Because of that, I feel I am lagging behind spiritually. I want to catch up the spiritual level of the Jewish people as soon as possible. Is there any faster way to be righteous and holy? Is there any shortcut for spiritual growth?

  1. The short answer to your question is “No.” Judaism teaches that spiritual growth, by definition, is something that cannot be done successfully quickly. It requires intent and introspection, and, in order for it to be a healthy and rewarding experience, it must be done methodically.

While I appreciate your desire to move forwards quickly, nevertheless, it is recommended to grow spiritually in a sustained way, at a speed that allows you to internalize the new information and experiences.
