Many of the commentaries explain that the word “seven” is often used in Tanach to denote “many times”. Accordingly, here it is not referring to a specific number of times. Rather, it means that King David praised Hashem often.
However, some explain that King David is referring to praising by doing the seven Mitzvos that were granted to the Jewish People as a special sign of Hashem’s great love for us. The seven Mitzvos are: Tefillin Shel Rosh, Tefillin Shel Yad, four Tzitzis on the four corners of the garment, and the Mezuzah.
