Prospective Convert Celebrating the Festivals

Question

I plan on converting to Judaism when I’m of age, but there are so many mixed opinions and answers on if to-be converts can celebrate the holidays.

  1. It would be permissible if your intent is pure and you wish to celebrate the Holidays because of your sincere desire to be Jewish. However, due to the fact that each Festival has its own dynamics, it is possible that you should not keep some of them in their entirety until you actually convert. Subsequently, I think that the best thing to do is to make contact with a local Orthodox Rabbi, who will be able to help you and explain to you exactly what you can and cannot do. All the best.
