Placing the Blood – Leviticus 8:23

What does it mean when Moshe placed blood on the ridge of the ear, on the right thumb, and the right big toe?

  1. If your question is why those parts of the body, there is a very beautiful interpretation by the son of the Rambam. Rabbi Avraham ben haRambam writes that one should always listen to G-d’s commandments, use one’s hands to grasp the opportunity to do Mitzvot and run to be able to perform good deeds.

If your question is why the right as opposed to the left, the answer is because the right side is always viewed as the stronger, more dominant side, and it is the side that we should utilize first in our service to God.
