Night Shift – When to Pray

Question

My home was not observant, so I feel a little lost. I work nights, and my sleep-wake cycle is opposite the norm. So, when is the proper time for me to say שמע ישראל

Should I reverse the order and say the morning prayer(s) in the evening, and vice versa?

Many thanks

  1. The best thing to do is to recite Shema before you go to sleep after you get home from your night-shift. Then go to sleep and when you wake up you can pray Afternoon Prayers. If you are a man you should put on your Tefillin when you pray in the afternoon.
