Name-Calling of Politicians

Question

Is it forbidden to refer to public figures in politics you don’t like by derogatory terms? For example, when talking amongst your friends, describing a politician you don’t like as an ‘idiot’ or ‘moron’ or some other harsh name you believe fits them.

  1. While it is true that many politicians seem to attract (perhaps deservedly) negative attention because of what they do or say, as a rule it is always better to shy away from using derogatory terms for all people – including politicians.
