Does suffering elevate souls? I learned that suffering cleanses the sins. What else does suffering do? Can suffering cause spiritual growth?

    Yes, absolutely. Suffering, when approached in the correct way, can elevate a person’s soul and draw a person closer to God. That, by definition, is spiritual growth. However, as I mentioned, it is not something that happens automatically, without the person being involved in the growth and desiring the growth.
