“Besora” in the Tanach

Question

An online search says that besora (בשורה) is the Old Testament (Hebrew) equivalent of the New Testament (Greek) word euangelion, which is translated as “gospel”, meaning “good news”. My question is this: Is “besora” or an equivalent word found in the Tanakh?

  1. The word Besora is found in Tanach (I only found it three times, all in the same chapter (28) of the second Book of Samuel. The word Besora really means “news”. It is not necessarily good news or bad news – just news. Good news would be “Besora Tovah”.
