  1. An important and intriguingly simple question!

An Orthodox Jew is a label for one who tries to follow the ways of the Torah as given by God to the Jewish People at Mount Sinai. This path and tradition has been taught from generation to generation to this very day.

The relevant laws and customs are codified in what is known as the Shulchan Aruch, the Code of Jewish Law. In each generation, countless issues are addressed by the greatest Torah scholars of the generation. All Torah teachings and legal rulings are based on intense Torah study, tradition and a righteous and God-fearing moral character.
