A Man and Long Hair

Is a Jewish male other than a Nazir allowed to grow long hair?

  1. Not really. Too much hair becomes a barrier that called a “chaztizah,” which means that there there is a problem with the Tefillin Shel Rosh (Head Tefillin), as they will not be able to sit in the exact place that they need to be in order to fulfill the Mitzvah of wearing them.
