Hi! Does the Torah prohibit listening to non-Jewish music?

Hi! I have an interesting question, and am not even sure if this is the right place to refer it to. Recently, I've realized that among Chasidim, the pronunciation of Yaakov, is "Yankov", or for short, "Yanky". There is no "nun" in Yaakov, and I was wondering if you'd be able to clue me in, as to where that pronuncation stems from. The people I asked had no idea, this was the way they were taught, and the way everyone else around them spoke. Do you know why this is so? Thanks!

Hi! I know a black guy, who is a very devout baptist. He's always into religion, the bible, theology, u name it.... At whatever chance he gets, he's always busy preaching, or reading religious stuff, etc, etc. He's asked me recently, a couple of times already, if I could bring him the old testament. He wants to read it - the five books of Moses. I'm not sure what to do. Should I bring him a copy? If so, what kind should I get for him? an artscroll? Or, is it not proper for me to give him a set at all? I'm not even so clear on how to clarify to him, about our Torah, torah, neviam, kesuvim, ba'al pe'eh, and all that. I don't want to give him any wrong impressions, and am not even sure what I'm allowed or supposed to do here. What am I supposed to do in such a case? Thanks!

B"H Dear Rabbi, my daughter asked me this question and I don't know the answer: we know that to put on t'fillan' is a male mitzvah to do..but just like we learned that it is 'permissable' for women to have their own 'minyan' to read from the Torah...she wants to know, is it "permissible" for women to put on t' fillan? thank you.
