Chag Semeach! Since it is nearly Shavout, I thought a Torah related question might be in order. Is it permissable to place a printed copy of the Torah in the Aron Ha-Kodesh of a Shul if a Torah scroll cannot be afforded?

Do ALL Orthodox women cover their heads after marrying? I know that this is the way it's supposed to be, I am just curious to know if most or many married Orthodox women wear wigs or cover their head when walking outside. Also- I believe wearing wigs started out in Egypt. If this is an Egyptian practice why is it done today? For a Modern Orthodox woman is wearing a wig or covering the hair in public absolutely mandatory?

When Moses was raised up by the egyptians, he was named "Moses" or "Moshe", which means "from the river" (or something to that effect). My family was wondering what his parents called him. Did he have a name before he was known as Moses, or was he just "The Baby". Happy Shalom

Dear Rabbi, shalom uberacha. There is a couple. Both of them are "glatt" jews. And they have trie to have children for the last 5 years, and the doctors at the end told them to forget about the issue. So they took a cell from her, a sperm from him. Then, they managed to fertilize it in a lab, and they have placed the result into a woman. A goy one. And the baby was born and the jewish couple took him, and is raising him. Is the boy jew? Vehatzlacha. M

Is there any basis for allowing the ark to be opened in the synagogue during the daily minyan and counting it as the 10th man?
