As a part of my halacha final I needed to formulate a halachic question, and I also need to receive an answer from an on-line rabbi. I would greatly appreciate your answer to my question.Here goes: My name is Soledad Lopez. I have a wonderful husband, whom I love very much. We live in the Dominican Republic, in a small town. Though we do not have much money, we manage to pay for most expenses. However, there is one big problem we have recently been faced with. Enrique, my beautiful baby boy whom I gave birth to three weeks ago, was born with a cleft lip and a cleft palate. It has been very difficult for me to feed him, because of the deformity of his mouth. He must drink through a special bottle with a narrow tube. We are unable to afford the costs of an operation to repair the deformity, but my son cannot go on like this. We were ecstatic when we found out that a prestigious plastic surgeon from Hollywood, California is coming to our town on a good will mission to perform plastic surgeries for members of underprivileged families such as mine. The surgeon, Dr. Lipshitz, has agreed to perform the necessary surgery for our baby at no cost; however, he has informed us that performing surgery at three weeks is extremely risky. This is our only chance to fix the deformity. Can we go through with the surgery? Thank you in advance, Tali

Chag Semeach! Since it is nearly Shavout, I thought a Torah related question might be in order. Is it permissable to place a printed copy of the Torah in the Aron Ha-Kodesh of a Shul if a Torah scroll cannot be afforded?

Do ALL Orthodox women cover their heads after marrying? I know that this is the way it's supposed to be, I am just curious to know if most or many married Orthodox women wear wigs or cover their head when walking outside. Also- I believe wearing wigs started out in Egypt. If this is an Egyptian practice why is it done today? For a Modern Orthodox woman is wearing a wig or covering the hair in public absolutely mandatory?
