I was recently told by smeone that the early forms of Siddurim only contained the Shema, blessings of the Shema, the Shemoneh Esrei, and the Aleinu, and the reason for the addition of the other blessings, the Verses of Praise, Ketoret, etc, were added not only in order to help one fulfill his required daily Torah study, but to fulfill the requirement of saying 100 blessings a day. Is that true?

First the background: I am assimilated Jewish in Australia but coming back to my roots in the past 5 years. But I am caught between generations with older and younger generations and my brother and sisters not wanting to be Jewish. For me, I thank Hashem for bringing me back. I am so glad to be Jewish. Why i am writing right now is that my 16 year old daughter has just attemted suicide and would have died if she had not been found. It is a long story and I will not trouble you with it. But the short story is that my daughter has been very troubled since a male teacher crossed sexual boundaries with her when she was almost 14 and I reported him and he lost his job. She has been very depressed and has done many unsuitable things since then. I have done what I can but it is very difficult to help a defiant child who seems to have had few ethical principles for quite some time since she was 14 and does not want to be helped. To me, she is living on the dark side and is paying the price. At the same time she is, in my mind, the lovely daughter I thought I knew and I would like to help her. Could you advise me please? And do you think a Jewish soul, cut off from its roots can never achieve happiness and peace unless it reconnects with its people? This is how it seemed with me and I am wondering if it is the case with my daughter and other children. They are not interested in religion at all though i have always talked to them of G-d. My husband is a goy and an athiest and I am very unhappily married. He does not give me housekeeping money and is rather odd and seems amoral. He likes to be difficult and a nuisance and to get me and the children to argue with him. Mostly it is the 14 year old daughter who argues with him now, usually about food. We do not eat well enough.It is very stressful living with him.
