Question
Here is a life story.. If a child was sheltered and pampered and was set up to be protected and while developing within the Yeshiva system could not adjust and had many negative experiences bordering on abuse ie: kicked into closets by Rabbi's, verbally abused etc, expelled for non comfority..and somehow this child's conditioning and guilt held sway and he continues living a somewhat traditional lifestyle..despite the persistent anger and the total running away from Judaism.. what do you say about a person like this? Obviously, he is capable only of serving himself.. a protective barrier and shield from hurt and anger and frustration exists and the need for security predominates..how does a person like this find G-D when he can only serve himself? Perhaps simple explanations and a simple love of G-D and nature translates into a happy fatalism whereby living with ideas of transcendence work as distinct from living G-D as a reality. Is traditional practice meaningless under these circumstances since the intent is selfish and this once child can not worship anything since he is too crippled and can only see through his own perceptions which were negartive since no real role model or authentic Judaism was experienced?

Question
Hi Rabbi, I am a Jewish woman and am dating a Catholic man and have begun talking about getting engaged. I really want to have a traditional Jewish Wedding with a Rabbi marrying us (my boyfriend is OK with this), would this still be possible? Would a Rabbi marry us? Please let me know what the rules are when it comes to being married. Thank you! Danielle

Question
1) if "lev malachim vesarim beyad elokim", why are they responsible for their actions? 2) Does Jewish law consist of any jail time? for example if someone holds up a bank for fun but doesn't take any money or if someone were to phone in phony bomb threats, what can be done about it

Question
I have been studying Jacob and Esau. I was especially touched by Esaus' plea with his father, Isaac to give him a blessing in Genesis chapter 27. His father Isaac answered him with a prophecy. I am wondering if that prophecy came true. Some bible scholars say that Esau's descendants are no more, others say that his descendants will play an important part in the end of the world. Do the Edomites still live, if so where do they live in the modern world and are they part of the Jewish sect or are they not accepted? I cannot find the answer and it is important to me to understand all of this. I really don't know why it is important, but it is. Thank you for your kind attention Arline
