Question
Some authors claim that the Torah, the Mishnah, the Talmud, and the Midrashim are separate documents. Other authors claim that the Talmud consists of the Mishnah and the Gemarah. Some authors claim that the Talmud includes Midrashim, others claim that the Midrashim are separate from the Talmud. Is the Mishnah separate from the Talmud? Does the Talmud contain some Midrashim? I understand that some Commentary on the Talmud, written centuries after the Talmud was written may include Midrashim; however, my questions relates to the Talmud itself, not the Commentaries.

Question
Dear rabbi, I'm adopting a little girl who is four years old. I'm very lucky to have finally found a child that I know I will love unconditionally forever, and give her the attention she has been deprived of all her life...but my beautiful little daughter to be is also severly brain damaged from birth, though despite that fact I am so much looking forward to being her mother and bringing her into my loving observant Jewish home. She had been labled as "profoundly retarded" and my question to you is: Should I convert her even though she may never be able to understand Judaism at all or should I not even bother to convert her? I'd just like to hear your suggestion on the matter, thanks.

Question
OS 275 Dear Rabbi, I noticed the divider at the Western Wall camera (www.kotelkam.com). What is the purpose of this division? Why is the wall divided into two sections? Thanks.

Question
OS 275I was approached by a woman with the following story:"At age 52 I learned that my maternal grandmother was an orphan and was Jewish. As a baby she was placed in a Catholic household and reared as a Catholic. She reared my mother as a Catholic and my mother reared me as a Catholic. The story generated the following questions: "What is my status according to Jewish law? What is the status of my children according to Jewish law?" She is genuinely curious. I look forward to your response. Thank you very much.

IHello, Rabbi. I understand there is a whole debate over wearing a sheitel made from Indian hair. I can't afford the european hair wigs; is a sheitel made from indian hair acceptable?
