Maximum Synagogue Size?

Question

I cannot find where I read that in ancient times when a synagogue had 70 adult men they started a new synagogue. Thanks for your assistance.

    I apologize, but I have never heard of such an idea before. The Talmud relates that there were synagogues that were enormous and could seat thousands and thousands of people, such as the one in Alexandria in Egypt.
