Iyov 26:5 – Forming Dead Things

Question

Iyov 26:5 says, “Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.”

Would you explain this?

(By the way, Resh~Pei~Aleph~Yud~Mem spells raphayim, meaning lax, ghost, shade, deceased.)

  1. I am sending you a copy of the answer that was sent out on March 22nd as I assume that you never received it.

The commentaries explain that Iyov is belittling Bildad’s speech. He is asking him whether he truly believes that his words are capable of giving life to to the dead, who are in the depths of the sea or who are buried in the ground.
