Rabbi Mordechai Becher

 

Rabbi Becher is a Senior Lecturer for Gateways and is originally from Australia . He lectured at Ohr Somayach College in Jerusalem for 15 years, served in the Israel Defense Forces and taught in training programs for Rabbis and educators. Rabbi Becher received his rabbinic ordination from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. He has co-authored two books on Jewish law and has responded to thousands of legal, ethical and philosophical questions on the “Ask the Rabbi.org” website. His latest book, Gateway to Judaism, published by Artscroll-Mesorah Press, is now in its fifth printing.


Chavy Becher

Mrs. Becher graduated summa cum laude from Bryn Mawr College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and teaching certification in English literature. She obtained a teaching degree in Jewish Studies from Teacher’s Institute for Women at Yeshiva University and received her MA (Hons.) in Education from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Mrs. Becher has lectured in Australia, Israel, Canada and Russia.

Mrs. Debbie Greenblatt

Debbie Greenblatt has been involved in teaching and counseling Jewish women for more than twenty-five years. Her insightful and powerful presentations on topics such as practical applications of Jewish philosophy and personal relationships has touched the minds and hearts of all those who attend her classes. Mrs. Greenblatt lectures frequently within the Metropolitan area and across the country.

Rabbi Avrumy Jordan

A graduate of Ohr Lagolah, a Rabbinical training program in Jerusalem and a trained Chazzan, Avrumy Jordan, Director of Operations for The Gateways Organization, is originally from Australia. He received his Rabbinical Ordination from the Beth Din of Jerusalem.

Rabbi Reuven Lauffer

Rabbi Reuven Lauffer is a graduate of the Rabbinical Seminary, Jerusalem. He lives in Jerusalem and has taught for fifteen years in Ohr Somayach. He is an Editor and Web Advisor for Ohr Somayach's popular weekly Torah magazine Ohr Net and has answered tens of  thousands of questions for Ask the Rabbi.

Rabbi Moshe Newman

Rabbi Moshe Newman, originally from Washington D.C., is a Talmudic lecturer for Ohr Somayach in Jerusalem. Rabbi Newman has co-authored books on contemporary issues in Jewish law and ethics and has vast experience in responding to legal and ethical questions on the Ask the Rabbi website.

He serves as General Editor of Ohrnet magazine.


Dr. Chaim Presby

 

Dr. Chaim Presby has been a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories for over 30 years, where he led Research and Development efforts in Photonic Applications. His specialty is Optical Fiber Technology and he holds over 200 patents and has published more than 180 papers in leading scientific journals. He held the position of Research Architect for the Terabeam Corporation and is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America.  In addition to speaking for Gateway’s, Dr. Presby gives Torah classes in his home town of Highland Park, N.J.


Mrs. Chaya Reich

Mrs. Reich is the Cofounder and CEO of a computer mail order company. Previously, she founded and operated a specialty jewelry design and manufacturing company. She is a certified Jewish Marriage Educational Counselor and is sought after as a speaker on marriage, relationships & the role of women in Judaism to audiences throughout America.

Rabbi Jonathan Rietti

 

Rabbi Rietti is a Senior Lecturer for Gateways and is a descendant of the Sephardic leader the Ben Ish Chai and son of the famous British actor Robert Rietti. He received his rabbinical diploma from Gateshead Talmudical College, England, after which he helped establish the now flourishing Kollel in Gibraltar. With a master's in education, he has practiced for 24 years as an educational consultant to parents of gifted children and those with ADD.  He currently works in Brooklyn under Machon Daas Esevuna where he has partnered with Rabbi Meir Pogrow to train teachers using hands on chinuch methods steeped in Chazal based principles.  Rabbi Rietti has authored over twenty nine lecture albums on topics including inner growth, health, parenting and Jewish identity.


Rabbi Jonathan Shippel

A native of South Africa, Rabbi Shippel is a graduate of Columbia University, NY and Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore. He holds a Masters degree in Judaic Studies. After receiving his Rabbinical Ordination in Jerusalem, Rabbi Shippel founded and directed Ohr Somayach, Cape Town, SA. He built a Jewish Learning Center, a vibrant congregation and a Jewish Day School. Rabbi Shippel joined Gateways in 2005 and is currently a Senior Lecturer.

Rabbi Mordechai Suchard

Rabbi Suchard is the Founder and Director of Gateways and the son of a Rabbi and Judge on the prestigious Johannesburg Beth Din. He studied in the Talmudical Academies of Telshe in Cleveland and Ponevitz in Israel. He is ordained by the Chief Rabbi and Dean of the Beth Din of Jerusalem, Rabbi Kulitz.

Rabbi Leibie Sternberg

Rabbi Leibie Sternberg is the Rav of Kehilas Prozdor in the Pleasant Ridge section of Monsey, NY, and is also a practicing attorney. He has been answering Ask the Rabbi questions since 1996 and publishes a weekly Parsha/Torah sheet available at http://www.prozdor.com. Rabbi Sternberg received Semicha from HaRav Yaakov Nisan Rosenthal, Av Beis Din in Haifa, Israel and from HaRav Shlomo Gross, Dayan of Kahal Machzikei HaDas D'Belz in Brooklyn, NY.
